Pitfighters
… Fight to the finish

What is it?
Pitfighters came to life about 2 years ago. In it's infancy it was a 2D online 4 player turn-based combat game which never quite got off the developement stage. Recently it has been given a new lease of life as a 3D first /third person shooter. Here is a little about it to whet your appetite:
Pitfighters (PF) is an online, multiplayer combat game based in a 3D environment. Up to eight players fight in arena’s to gain points based on their finishing place and bonus's each time they play. The game is based on Deathmatch (DM) and each game continues until the game timer runs to zero, the most kills wins. To achieve this the players use a variety of weapons that are available in the arena’s. Most weapons have 2 firing modes. Some weapons have melee-style attacks (hand to hand combat) but the majority are projectile (medium to long range).
What's it got?
1. Realtime perpetual 'game-world' scoring and Hall of Fame (on the website, built into the game menu and within the 3D world as a scoreboard).
2. Spectate, Practice and Combat modes with options to allow you to 'Client-sync' with friends so that you can practice together easily!
3. Co-operative elements. Although strictly Deathmatch some elements of the game allow (and indeed require) co-operation to gain access to special area's/weapons and points.
4. 911 admin response button. For real time interaction with Admins within the 3D engine. 'Sentinels' will answer any calls that report someone breaking the CoC (Code of Conduct). With unlimited powers the Sentinels will police the arenas.
5. Dynamic updates. Once the game is released further weapons, arenas and features will be added by an automatic download/install feature built into the game.
Plus many many more!
There are already many tournament based 3D games on the market, so this game has to be different to make a stand in the marketplace. Some of these differences are outlines below :
1. A central scoreboard for all games played, wherever, whenever, forever. Almost NO online multiplayer game of this type has a perpetual central score system that can tally the individual players scores and show a positive leader. Our aim is to have a definite scoring system that will show the best players each month. The first place players will then carry over to a Hall of Fame that will show these players for each month.
2. It will be free. Certainly for the first release and a few updates this game will be free. Once we (and you!) are happy with the product we may release it independently using our own user base.
When is it available?
We are currently running tests on an early pre-beta version of the game to test the game engine and communications. Please go to www.pitfighters.com for more current information on where we are in the project.
We are always looking for good Beta-breakers!
